Island Peak Climbing
Island Peak is one of the famous peaks among all the trekking peaks in Nepal. It is suitable to all beginner climbers and skilled trekkers. Island peak climbing initially tracks the main Everest Base Camp Trek route but separates near Dingboche. One can have the same sense of being on top of Mount Everest while standing on the top of Island Peak at 6,189 meters. This peak is situated in Sagarmatha National Park in Himalayan region, Khumbu of eastern Nepal. The real name of this peak is Imja Tse. It was named as Island Peak was by the members of British Mount Everest voyage in 1953 as it seems like Island in a sea of ice while observing from Dingboche. Climbing this peak is challenging and requires a proper physical strength but is a moderately easy one compared to other peaks.
